For this project I chose two rocks. the fist one was Jade. At first I had no idea what it was the out side of the rock was dirty and was a light green color but when I cut it open it was pretty dark green color but to make sure it was jade I asked my teacher Andrew and he said it was jade. The second rock was Rose Quartz this rock so pretty I just had to have it it was pretty pink and peach color but I didn't know what kind of rock it was so I looked it up online and it was rose quartz.
Jade: Has six natural colors like green, lavender, red, yellow, white and black. Green is the most common and expensive color. The green color varies from pale or yellowish green to Granny Smith apple green, it’s best color. comes in many varieties in color, most commonly green, but also including black, pink, grey, white, violet, and many others. The general rock of jade consists of two different minerals, Nephrite and Jadeite. These two minerals create a structure of oxygen and silicon atoms.
Rose Quartz: Is one of the most desirable varieties of quartz. The pink to rose red color is completely unique, unlike any other pink mineral species. The color is caused by iron and titanium impurities. Rose quartz is found in Madagascar, India, Germany, and several localities in the USA. Much rose quartz was extracted from a famous site near Custer, South Dakota, but now, most of the world's supply of good quality rose quartz comes from Brazil.Brazil is also the only current source of true well-formed crystals of rose quartz.
